Review: Not Yet Read

This week, Tabitha at Not Yet Read weighs in on THE BLOODBOUND.

I’m having a giggle looking through the comments. Maybe it’s because I haven’t read much YA, but I honestly had no idea that so many people have this visceral reaction to love triangles. Personally, I don’t have any particular opinion on love triangles. They’re like any other trope: sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t; what works for you might not work for me. That being said, maybe if I’d been exposed to more of them, I’d have a knee-jerk reaction too. I can well imagine that if handled poorly, a love triangle could be angsty to the point of nausea.

Anyway, I’m glad the verdict is that this particular love triangle is “not so evil after all”. I’d hate to “annoy the piss” out of Pabkins! 😉

LOL! Pabkins is great =) Yes, some readers get very angry about love triangles existing in books at all. I’ve personally never understood the anger and annoyance, but some of my all-time favorite series have had love triangles. Also, I don’t read a lot of YA so maybe that helps too?

Yeah, I have a working hypothesis that exposure to YA (or lack thereof) is a key factor influencing one’s opinion of love triangles.

I promise never, ever to put Nicolas Lenoir into one, if that comforts anyone. 😉
