Hi!

I write books. Genre-bending books, usually. I'm indecisive like that. Whether I'm writing mystery or fantasy or romance, you can always count on character-driven stories with plenty of gasps, laughs, and swoons. Usually, though not always, there’s a dash of magic. Sometimes there are swords.

I spent more than a decade working for the United Nations all over the world, and the people, places, and stories I encountered have a way of showing up in my books, albeit in altered form.

My latest addiction is geeking out on Gilded Age New York. I'm also into food and wine, travel, music, and movies. My husband and I divide our time between Calgary and Brooklyn, and spend more time than we should wrangling a pair of half-domesticated Burundian cats.
